If you have a Shopify store, connect it to Hellotext before you launch playbooks, routes, captures, campaigns, or reports that depend on store activity.
By connecting Shopify, Hellotext can create and update customer profiles from commerce activity, receive signals from your store, and help attribute results after messages.
The following activities can be tracked automatically:
- Products viewed.
- Abandoned carts.
- Cart updates.
- Completed orders.
- Updated orders.
- Refunded orders.
With this information, Hellotext can build richer customer profiles, create segments, trigger playbooks or routes, target campaigns, and measure what happens after each message.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- Admin access to the Shopify store you want to connect.
- Access to the Hellotext business where the store should appear.
- Permission to install apps from the Shopify App Store.
- Time to run a small test after the connection is complete.
If you will use Shopify checkout opt-in, review that capture setup after connecting the store.
Connect your Shopify store
From the Hellotext dashboard, go to Settings and click Integrations.
Click Shopify. Hellotext will send you to the Shopify App Store so you can install the Hellotext app.
Click Install to add the Hellotext app to your Shopify store. If you are not already signed in to Shopify, Shopify will ask you to sign in first.
Review the permissions requested by the Hellotext app, then click Install app to authorize the integration.
After authorization, Shopify redirects you back to Hellotext.
If Hellotext asks whether you want to import existing Shopify customers, choose the option that matches your launch plan. Importing existing customers can help you start with more customer profiles and historical context, but you should still confirm consent before sending messages.
If you start an import, you do not need to wait on the page until it finishes. Complete the flow and return to Settings > Integrations to check the integration status.
If you see your Shopify store listed as connected, the integration is ready.
Verify the connection
Before launching a broad playbook or campaign, run a small end-to-end test.
Check that:
- A test customer profile appears in Hellotext.
- A product view, cart update, order, or other expected activity appears on the right customer profile.
- Products, order totals, cart details, and timestamps look correct.
- The customer profile has consent for the channel you plan to use.
- Reporting and attribution can see the test activity you expect.
